  • Grief

    Edward Martin|Feb 29, 2024

There are folks who endeavor not to feel emotions. We’ve all known people who hide their tears, their sorrow, even their love. We mistakenly call that “being strong”, but it isn’t. Burying emotions is corrosive and ultimately erupts in some way, as anger, as depression, some other way. I’m no expert but I do know what grief feels like and, of one thing I’m certain, it doesn’t just disappear once and for all. I know folks who do their best to overcome grief by chasing constant distraction. They f...

  • Resurrection Reality!

    Dave Carroll|Feb 29, 2024

Though still a month away, my thoughts this morning are on the celebration of Easter. The event that forever changed the world. The event that impacts every soul that has ever lived. The first Easter was the day the disciples and enemies of the Lord Jesus Christ discovered that the tomb in which Joseph of Arimathaea and Nicodemus had laid the body of Jesus was empty. The disciples of Jesus were perplexed and sorrowful over the empty tomb. Even though Jesus had been telling them for months, that He would be rejected, crucified (he used the term...

Coach Nick Ethridge, Photos by Ray Castellanos|Feb 29, 2024

The Badger basketball season ended this last weekend at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls. We entered the Divisional tournament with our first game against the Winnett-Grass Range Rams. The Rams have been State-ranked all season and proved to be a tough test for our team. Despite being down double digits throughout the game, the boys continued to fight hard and closed the gap multiple times. With seconds on the clock, the Badgers were within 3 points and had the ball. Unfortunately, a ref's...

On January 10th, the Cascade Leadership High School group and I attended the Great Falls Leadership High School "Education" day to examine the education system in Great Falls. We started at a local preschool, meeting with our groupmates to discuss our final projects. Once the preschoolers arrived, we split into different classrooms to read to the kids. I was in the special education classroom, so we helped the kids with their breakfasts and played with them in their play area. After this, we...

Instead of writing back he asked if he could zoom in and talk to the class. He talked about his life as a governor and gave the students great advice for their futures. It was a fantastic...

  • Educating the Bear

Nancy Royan, Librarian, Wedsworth Memorial Library|Feb 29, 2024

The library is offering some bear education. Are we educating the bears?? Well, as that might be a good course of action, it might be more productive not to try and educate the bears, as they seem to do their own thing and keep on learning how to open those doors. So let us offer some education to us humans who also like to ignore common sense and do our own thing which often leads into interesting situations. Bears are fuzzy, adorable, but can be crazy terrifying. Bears of course, have been seen right here in our own backyards. And while your...
