The Badger boys' basketball team just completed a busy week. Multiple nights of action saw JV and Varsity each get 3 games of competition.

The JV started their week with a Tuesday contest against the Power Pirates. The team continued its winning ways with a dominant 52-25 victory. Trent Lane added to his growing list of double-doubles, he finished with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Conner Mann almost had one as well, he finished with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Peyton Hauk filled the stat sheet scoring 9, dishing 6 assists while grabbing 5 rebounds and adding 3 steals.

Thursday the JV had the opening contest in a rematch against Class B Shelby. The young Badgers sneaked by the Coyotes by 5 in our first meeting, and we knew this would be a tough road contest. The game did not disappoint and was back and forth with each team trading shots. In the end, the boys made just enough plays to sneak away with a 46-45 victory. Peyton Hauk had a huge night; he scored 10, grabbed 11 rebounds and added 7 assists and 3 steals. Lane Ethridge scored 8 and had 4 blocks. Josh Creveling hit 2 much-needed 3 pointers; he finished with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Conner Mann contributed 6 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals.

The JV week concluded Friday night at home as they opened the night against Simms. The Tigers kept the game close early, but eventually the boys pulled away with a 50-29 win. Josh Creveling had his best night of the season while continuing his hot shooting; he logged 15 points, drilled two 3 pointers, added 13 rebounds, 6 steals and 3 assists. Peyton Hauk also contributed 7 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals. The Badgers owned the glass, pulling in 54 team rebounds. In addition to Creveling and Hauk's numbers, Trent Lane had 10 boards and Deyton Raether added 9.

The JV concluded the week with a record of 12-1.

The Varsity week followed suit with the same match-ups in the main event games. Tuesday night against the A squad from Power, the veteran Badgers played one of their best games of the season and dominated the conference match-up en route to a 75-32 victory. Gavin Gilham led the way with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Tyler Lane scored 15, grabbed 6 boards and added 8 assists. Brent Ethridge scored 16 and had 9 rebounds. Kaden Jorgensen scored 8, dished out 5 assists and snagged 8 rebounds of his own. Lane Ethridge had his best Varsity night of the year; he sunk a couple threes to score 10 off the bench, while adding 3 assists, 3 blocked shots and 2 steals.

Thursday night's road game in Shelby proved to be a challenging one for our Varsity squad. The Badgers got down early to a hot shooting Coyotes team, but fought back in the 2nd half. The game ended with us on the wrong end of a 62-70 final. Despite the tough loss, the Badgers stuck together and played hard throughout. Brent Ethridge led the scoring with 20, while securing 12 rebounds. Tyler Lane also finished with a double-double; he had 12 points to go with 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Caiden Sekuterski finished in double figures with 10, and Lane Ethridge hit a couple 3s off the bench to add 6.

Friday night the Badgers were back home and had a chance to get back to winning in a conference match-up against Simms. The Badgers took great care of the ball and played good defense en route to a 74-49 win. Four Badgers finished in double figures led by Gavin Gilham's 18. Gilham also added 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Kaden Jorgensen played great; he scored 14 and had 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Caiden Sekuterski also scored 14, while adding 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. Tyler Lane had his fifth double-double of the season; he scored 10, had 12 rebounds and added 6 assists, 5 blocks and 4 steals.

The Varsity concluded the week with a record of 9-3(7-0 conference).

This week will also be a busy one for the team; Tuesday we will travel to Valier, Friday we will welcome Heart Butte and then finish up with a Saturday trip to Dutton.
