The Badgers have made it halfway through the season and this past week was our first to rematch with teams we've already faced once on the schedule.

Friday night the Badger JV started off the weekend with a rematch against Big Sandy's JV squad. The boys jumped all over the Pioneers and led 26-3 at the end of the 1st quarter. For the 2nd consecutive game, the JV squad won each quarter with the final tally being 70-29.

Every single Badger scored. Lane Ethridge led the scoring with 12 followed by Conner Mann, Ian Mckamey and Trent Lane who each added 10. The JV had their best rebounding game of the season, pulling in 67 rebounds as a group. Each Badger had at least 4 rebounds in the contest. Trent Lane sealed his 4th double-double of the season by pacing the Badgers with 11 boards.

The Badger Varsity was up next and ended up in a competitive contest with a hot shooting Pioneer team. The Varsity boys spent most of the evening playing catch up. A good 2nd half, led by the stellar defense of Gavin Gilham, saw the Badgers close the gap but eventually the clock ran out and we fell in a tight 63-65 contest.

Brent Ethridge and Gavin Gilham dominated the post. Ethridge had his best night of the season scoring 21 and grabbing 22 rebounds. Gilham also accomplished a double-double, he scored 14 points, added 13 rebounds and held the Pioneers top player to just 3 points in the 2nd half. Kaden Jorgensen also had a nice night for the home team, he hit a couple of 3 pointers and finished with 14 points.

Saturday, we welcomed the Refiners for our last regular season contest against the boys from Sunburst. The JV game was another good showing for the Badgers with the young squad dominating each frame for the 3rd game in a row enroute to a 54-8 victory.

The scoring was spread throughout the roster with points for everyone and no one scoring more than 9. Josh Creveling had a nice game while playing limited minutes, he scored 8 points while adding 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Conner Mann added 9 points and 7 rebounds. Tanner Jacobs also added 9 and Drake Lange continued his hot shooting, he drilled two 3-point shots and finished with 8.

The weekend's conclusion pushed the Badger JV record to 9-1.

The Varsity also enjoyed a successful rematch against the Refiners. The Badger A squad dominated and ensured that our bench saw extended minutes as the backups played the entire 2nd half. When it was all over the scoreboard showed 65-18 in our favor.

Tyler Lane had a great game. He led the scoring with 15 while adding 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Kaden Jorgensen added 12 points, 4 assists and 4 steals. The bench took over for the last 16 minutes and ensured that every single Badger scored in the contest. Seth Mckamey had 6 points and 7 rebounds. Peyton Hauk scored 3 and had 6 rebounds to go with his 2 assists and 2 steals. Lane Ethridge scored 8 points in transition and Josh Creveling got 4 attempts from the foul line and sank 3. Trent Lane received his first opportunity with the Varsity group, he scored a bucket while grabbing 6 rebounds.

The Varsity finished the weekend with a 7-2 record and remain undefeated (5-0) in conference play. This week we will see Power at home on Tuesday, January 23rd. We will follow that up with a Thursday trip to Shelby and then come back for a Friday home contest against Simms.
