Badgers "Arrest" The Lone Peak Wardens

The Badger Football team welcomed Lone Peak to town Friday night for their homecoming matchup. They were prepared for a good Lone Peak team with passing tendencies and a stout defense. After being gridlocked at zero half way through the first quarter the Badgers running game led an offensive drive that ended in a 4-yard Badger touchdown run. The Badger defense tightened and intercepted Lone Peak on 2 of the next three drives as the Badgers kept adding to the scoreboard, scoring 26 unanswered points before a long Lone Peak pass and 2 pt. conversion brought the score to 26-8. The badgers entered the half up 32-8.

Taking the field after half with the same motivation, the Badgers added two more touchdown scores in the third quarter, putting the game out of reach, and leading to a final score of 46-8. The Badger defense led by a stiff D-line, and featuring swarming linebacker play and a ball-hawking secondary had an outstanding outing, holding the Lone Peak offense to a total 80 yards in the matchup. They intercepted the Rams 3 times and recovered 1 lost fumble.

The Badger offense relied heavily on their running game with Caiden Sekuterski and Ian McKamey leading the way with large gashing touchdown runs behind great blocking from the line and downfield blocking by receivers. Peyton Hauk scored on a 25-yard run play and Brent Ethridge scored on a two-point conversion to round it out. The Badgers running game, featuring Sekuterski's 210 yards and McKamey's 147 yards, tallied a total of 418 yards on the ground and held Lone Peak to (-10) yards rushing. Two large interception returns by Ian McKamey and Peyton Hauk also provided great field position for the Badges as did a 35-yard punt return by Sekuterski.
