What is a birthday? It is the specific day that God picked for you to be born. No other day in history would do.

Each life is specifically designed by Him in every detail, and carefully woven into history. You were specifically woven into your family, your community, your country, for this moment in time. It is easy to forget that this is true—both about ourselves and about others. But each time your birthday rolls around, it is a reminder that you matter to God, and that He chose that specific day in history for your birth.

For you formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb (verse 13). Your eyes saw my unformed body; all my days were written in Your book and ordained for me before one of them came to be (verse 16).
