Fresh Perspective from Newly Appointed Mayor

The Cascade Town Council held a very organized and focused meeting on Thursday, May 16, 2024. Attendees of the meeting witnessed the introduction of new Mayor Wes Seabolt and Ward II Councilor Douglas Clinger. In addition to the Mayor and Councilor Clinger, Town Council members present were Ralph Schneider, Ward 1 Councilor, Kristin Riley, Ward 1 Councilor, Jodie Campbell, Consultant, Melanie Bissell, Clerk.

There were 4 community members present, including the representative from The Cascade Courier.

Unfinished business that was discussed included Nuisance property and ordinance update. The Enforcement Officer position was discussed. The Tree Board presented an Arbor Day Report. Discussions were had regarding the swimming pool, new hires, volunteers and the pool schedule. The decision was passed that the pool would be open Monday-Saturday and closed on Sundays. Mayor Seabolt has stated that he will be donating the Mayoral salary to the pool fund. The previously discussed water bill credit was tabled as the Council member who initiated the conversation was not present.

New business that was discussed included: Volunteer policy, voter review and multiple resolutions.

There was a short discussion regarding the consideration for a Farmer's Market in Cascade, to be held on a weekly basis throughout the summer months.
