  • We Are The Champions!

    Christa Hardy|May 18, 2023

DISTRICT TRACK RESULTS Girls are district champions for the 3rd year in a row, boys for the 2nd year in a row. Both teams scored a school Record breaking number of points. Something that needs to be pointed out is the competition within our team and how hard you push each other in practice and at meets to make each other better. With a large team, many had to fight for a spot in events and that forces everyone to have to compete harder. Those that didn't qualify still helped our team so much by...

  • All Decked Out for Prom

    Ray Castellanos, Courier Reporter|May 18, 2023

Cascade High School held its Prom this past Saturday at the Great Falls International Airport. PROM is short for a promenade dance, a dance party for high school students. Held toward the end of the school year, "kids" that one normally sees in shorts, t-shirts and sneakers throughout the year, suddenly transform into handsome young men in suits, and beautiful women in gowns. And just like that, one begins to believe that there really is hope for the future! What happened to those once goofy,...

  • Prayer

    Edward Martin, Local Contributor|May 18, 2023

When Rabbi Harold S. Kushner died last month my mind went back some 40 years to the publication of his book, “When Bad Things Happen to Good People”. It remains, to me, one of the very best books ever written on the subject of human suffering and how we think about God. Rabbi Kushner spoke from experience, he wrote honestly and compassionately. His son died of progeria shortly after his 14th birthday. I heartily recommend his book for anyone dealing with grief and the unfairness that so oft...

  • A Dog's Gospel

    Norm Miller, Montana Christian College|May 18, 2023

Matthew 15 records our Lord’s first trip outside of Judea with his disciples into the region of Samaria. This was not friendly territory. Jews hated Samaritans and considered them half-breeds since their family tree had roots both inside and outside of Abraham. As they traveled, a Canaanite woman came out to meet Jesus, crying to him: “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” When Jesus did not answer her, the disciples urged him to shoo her away because she was making a scene. Ignoring the woman and a...

Jeff Mortag, Coach, Cascade Public Schools|May 18, 2023

The Lady Badgers held the end of year awards ceremony coming together to celebrate a successful season. While never being the tallest team on the court, the Badgers used their athleticism and determination, finishing the regular season undefeated in the district. They also fought through injuries to take 2nd place at the 10C District tournament. The Badgers fought hard but finished 0-2 at Northern C Divisional Tournament. They ended the season with a record of 16-6. We would like to thank our captains (Harlie Jackson and Alaina Barger) for...
