Visit to the Helena Montana Temple

Instructions before entering (No photography inside the Temple)

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints now has a second operating temple in Montana, the Helena Temple, located at 1260 Otter Road in Helena. Special preview tours for non-members were offered last week from May 15th through May 17th . The 50-minute tours were held from 10:00 A.M. through 8:00 P.M., followed by light refreshments. The open house was to give people of all faiths the opportunity to tour the temple's beautiful interior and grounds, and to learn about the purposes of the sacred structures. Open house tours for LDS members were scheduled for May 18th through June 3rd, Sundays being excluded.

There are approximately 51,000 Latter-Day Saints in Montana, with the only other temple currently located in Billings. Plans for an additional temple in Missoula have been announced. LDS Temples are not the meeting houses or chapels where members meet for Sunday worship services, but rather are considered a "house of the Lord," where LSD teachings are reaffirmed, and where members learn more about the purpose of life and make covenants to follow Jesus and serve others.
